Andaz West Hollywood
10:23 PM
Los Angeles is a huge city that you can easily get lost in. There are so many destinations to visit within the city. I needed to pick the perfect location to take my aunts and what better place to go than West Hollywood. I love the area due to its liveliness and trendy vibes. It's streets are always packed with cars and it is never a dull moment. I picked a hotel that we could stay in right in the smack middle of the area and that happened to be Andaz West Hollywood.
As for the room and accommodation it was very spacious. Our room was so spacious and huge that we could fit about 3 more people in it comfortably. The room itself is very basic nothing too special that draws my eyes. As a matter of fact I kept suggesting that there needs to be some painting or something just to add a little pizzazz to the room. The bathroom was all white and there were little travel size soaps and shower necessity in there (TBH the quality of those were actually amazing). The beds were super comfortable and when I mean super I mean SUPER. So those were a few pros of this hotel and now we go onto the cons.
Like always, I like to review places I eat, sleep and shop lol. Therefore, here is my little review on my one night stay at the Andaz Hotel.
Check In Time: 4:00 PM
Check Out Time: 12:00 PM
The drive to this hotel was so aesthetically pleasing. One of my favorite things to take pictures of are palm trees ( the more the merrier, lol) and the Hollywood Hills are filled with tons of them! This hotel is located in West Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. near the border of Hollywood and West Hollywood. I personally think the location is prime because it over looks the entire city.
My overall rating of this hotel is a 4.5/5. Why, you may ask. There are several reasons leading to such a high rating as well as the .5 off. Let's first start out pros.
- Checking In: It was very easy. You walked up to the counter, actually not so much a counter but like a stand, and just gave them your name and bam that's it. I've had my fair share of checking into hotels around the world but for some reason I can never get used to the fact that this place just has a STAND. There's no official counter or anything its a standing desk that has 4 computers and the concierge is just standing. I'm not too sure if I'm just being dramatic but I prefer old "over the counter" type of check ins. lol
- Service: I would like to give a two thumbs up to the service at this hotel. They really know how to train their employees. When I drove up to the driveway I had ask if there was self parking and the man gave me the information I needed as well as suggest about valet. I was indecisive as to pick to use valet because it was expensive and I did not think it was worth it. However, the man was very nice to me after I weighed out the pros and cons for a good 5 minutes lol. The one thing that stood out to me was the housekeeper on our floor. She was just the best. We needed towels but we didn't want to ring for housekeeping just yet so we decided to go up and enjoy the view on the rooftop. We past by while she was cleaning a room so my aunt had suggested just to ask her right there and then for towels. She gave us towels and we went about our way but just before we could go anywhere my aunt kept pointing at the view in the room she was cleaning up. I guess she kind of got the clue that we were going to go look at the view up on the rooftop so she suggested that we view it in the room because it was just stunning. Of course the guest in that room had already checked out, otherwise she would have been breaking so many rules. She let us in and open the curtains for us to view the amazing city lights and wow was it drop dead gorgeous. I mean we had a good view but it was of the mountains not of the whole freaken city! She said take as many pictures as you want so I rushed to capture atleast 50 pictures. I thanked her because I didn't want to get her in trouble and went back to relax in our room. That's honestly something that stood out to me a lot because a hotel is in the industry of servicing guest and even though she did something that may have broken a couple rules it still satisfied the guest, ya feel? lol

- Parking: What the heck?! I don't understand why its like 40 something dollars for valet. Especially when you're staying at the hotel. Hotel guest should not pay for valet. I can understand guest that come in for events that are hosted at the hotel or any outsider but hotel guest? No, just no.
- Air Condition: I'm not to sure if it was just our room but the air conditioner was going haywire or something. I turned it on to the lowest setting and it didn't get any colder at all . It worked for a while and then it would cut off. I think this is a vital part of the hotel because the rooms don't really have proper ventilation. You can't really open the windows so sometimes it gets really stuffy in the room.
Would I Recommend It?
To be honest it really depends who I'm talking to. But in general I wouldn't really recommend this hotel because that parking fee is really a HUGE buzzkill. Yes the scenery is beautiful, the beds are comfortable but while you're paying almost 300 bucks A NIGHT for a room that added 40 something dollars A NIGHT can be excessive and just a waste of money. (You can spend your money else where).
I mean overall I liked the hotel but somethings are just only meant to experience once or twice in life. Alrighty, I'm going to wrap it up here and I will TTYL.
Below are some more pictures, enjoy!
